And the Creation Begins...

Here's the first pair of earrings I made with the vintage.  I love the length and they go with everything.  They definitely add a much needed splash of color (and a dash of interesting) to my heather gray car coat...

This pair is $42 on the website now!

Oh, Vintage. How I Adore You...

I was running late the other day.  I had to get home to get fancy for a party, but when I passed by Ashley's place, I HAD to stop.  I had a sudden urge to buy vintage!  It paid off (for both you and me), because look at these beauties!  I'm so excited about these awesome and unique pieces.  You'll see these little darlings and more at my Holiday Soiree on December 3rd at 6:30 p.m.  Shelley's throwing the party at her amazingly beautiful abode on the hill.  I hope you can all come, and please don't feel pressure to buy!  Just come and hang out with me.  Oh how I would love to see you there.

discount, Discount, DISCOUNT!

My website (micahyancey.etsy.com) is UPDATED!  It's taken me a while to get everything in order, but I now officially have the site updated for the Holidays.  Of course, it's always changing because my inventory keeps changing.  I'm sure I'll be updating it again, soon, but this is certainly a start for anyone who is ready to shop ('till they drop, as the saying goes...love that saying...yessssssss).

Please take a gander if you have a moment.  If you're reading this blog, I'd like to offer you a 15% discount (bolded for effect) off of anything you purchase through the site between now and December 2nd, 2008.

No, this is not because I think no one is reading.  Well, maybe it is...  NEVERTHELESS!  It certainly benefits you if you're here (and if you are a lover of my jewels).  To get your fancy discount, please email me at micahyancey@gmail.com with the names of the piece(s) you'd like to purchase and I will make sure your discount is included when you're paying via the website.

Thank you so much, One and All, for your amazing support and for at least pretending to enjoy my jewels.  I love you for that.

I'm A Fi-Yancey!

On Friday, November 8th, the funniest man...my favorite man...asked me to marry him.  I said YES!  He gave me the most beautiful gift when he asked me- a diamond ring.  I love him with my whole heart and soul.  The giant smiles and belly laughs he's brought to my life have made me the happiest of the happies.  Kevin Rust got on one knee in an adorable bed & breakfast in Fredricksburg, Texas.  He grabbed my left hand and said, "Micah, I love you very much.  I want to honor you for the rest of my life.  Will you marry me?"  It was a beautiful moment I will never forget.  My wonderful eeeb, there on his knee...tears in his eyes...asking me to spend my life with him.

It was of course a moment (and a weekend) I will never ever forget and I look forward to honoring my baybee for the rest of my days.  Cheers to happiness!  Cheers to laughs.  Cheers to LOVE.  I love you, Kevin.  Cheers to YOU.  Love, BB

Annie, Get Your [Plastic] Gun

Not only is she as sweet as sugar, Annie Ray is an incredibly talented photographer.  The Austin American-Statesman recently dedicated the cover of XLent, the newspaper's weekly entertainment guide, to Miss Ray with a beautiful story to follow of her incredible skills.  If you've seen Annie's work, you know that nothing about this amazing gal's work is average.  Her shots are highly creative and she urges her subjects to let loose as she captures uncommon, ridiculous, and heartfelt moments on camera.

This is my friend, Kevin Newsum.  Annie took this shot at a Yelp.com party and I love it.

Here's Yours Truly with Miss Candy Rae Curphey of ENVY magazine...

My b.f., Kevin Rust, looks too cute in this pic.  Annie's props are top notch.
I really love this one, too!
You get the point.  Annie is greatness.
I'm sure you'll be seeing her in the Austin area more and more.  If you are graced with the privilege of
having your photo taken by Annie, take her up on the offer.
She's one phabulous photographer.

New BonBons For All!

Hello, Friends!  I am very excited to let you know that I have several new confectionary couture delights in stock for the Holiday Season.  The little elves (my dear phalanges) have been hard at work, developing beautiful treasures for you to enjoy for yourself or give to others!  I found many beautiful stones and treats on my recent buying adventures.  As you all know, I carefully choose each stone for each and every bite of ear candy, so that you are always purchasing a high quality, one-of-a-kind, handmade product.  These photos, taken by the very talented Amy Dial, show you just a few of the new pieces I'll have available at my shows.  You'll be able to purchase these and many other BonBons at Emerald City Press this Saturday, 11/1, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.  You are also invited to the party hosted by The Boutique Real Estate on Thursday, 11/6, at 6:30 p.m.  Please email me for more information on these events:  micahyancey@gmail.com.  Thank you so much for all of your continued support!   xoxoxo

Are you a Twitter-er??

I learned about Twitter with Shelley at Social Media Camp.  She and I ventured out as little sponges, soaking up everything we could in order to better understand this fairly new (and certainly non-traditional) direction of socializing and marketing.  Camp lasted from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. (long day...not gonna lie) and was chock-full of great info.  I met some awesome people and learned about several sites and practices that were previously foreign to me.  If you've never checked out the "bubble video", 'tis rather funny.  It's a comedic techie geek compilation that really sums up how the world is changing in terms of media and marketing.

Am I loving the act of blogging?  Yes.  Is anyone reading this besides my dad?  No.

Dad, thanks for reading.  This pic is of Shelley and I from the GIANT happy hour after Social Media Camp.  It was just like being at a charity benefit in Hollywood.  "Who are you wearing, Miss Yancey???"

"Target couture, Mr. Seacrest."

Good times and great networking!  Dad, I hope you're proud.  : )

Giving Back with Ronnie and Pals

I have the most awesome friends!  Wow...I am so lucky.  I do thank God for them every day, because they are just so amazing.  The Ronald McDonald House lunch preparation was a big success.  Everyone came together and prepared a wonderful and filling meal for the families of the children who are ill at Dell Children's Hospital here in Austin.  It's heartbreaking when you think about what those families must be going through.  Feeding themselves is probably the last thing on their minds.  I think all of us felt good about giving back and we'll most likely do something to volunteer together once a month, now.

Gallerytastic news!

BonBon by Micah Yancey is officially selling at 1550 Gallery.  Thank you, Taleah, for finding me on Etsy and for the wonderful invitation!  I am excited to see how the show goes.  This fantastic art gallery in Kerrville, Texas is a great place to find one-of-a-kind paintings by local Texas artists.  The gallery also sells unique and beautiful jewelry by several local designers.  The Summer Jewelry Show will start June 26th and ends July 12th.  Please stop by if you happen to find yourself enjoying the adorable city of Kerrville!

XOXO to my wonderful customers and friends!
